Punjab IGP removed more than hundred police officials for not maintain their physical fitness.
The Punjab police force has suspended around 250 officials on failure to reduce their weight, Express News reported on Saturday.
Inspector General (IG) Punjab Habibur Rehman had ordered police officials not to allow their waistlines to exceed 38 inches and reduce their weight by July 7.
As the deadline ended, those unable to reduce their waists were suspended from their operational duties. Officials who joined gyms and reduced their waists by 2-4 inches were, however, given an extension in the deadline.
On the other hand, special exercise arrangements on daily basis have been made at Qurban Lines. Along with exercise, commando training is also provided to policemen to tackle any untoward incident.
According to IG Punjab, the police officials should be active and physically fit to perform their duties in a better way.
