The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) announced on Saturday that Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Abdul Qadir Gilani, son of former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, will contest by-elections for his father’s seat NA-151 Multan.
According to sources, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) announced the decision of giving the party’s ticket to Abdul Qadir Gilani. Abdul Qadir Gilani will resign from his MPA seat to contest the elections.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday announced the schedule for by-election in NA-151 Multan-IV for the National Assembly seat, which fell vacant following the disqualification of Yousuf Raza Gilani as prime minister.
As per schedule of the by-election, nomination papers of the candidates will be received on June 25 and 26 while the poll will be held on July 19.
