A pair of Bengal Tigers and white lions were finally unveiled to the public during an inauguration ceremony attended by Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed.
A pair of white lions and Bengal tigers were unveiled on Tuesday as hundreds flocked to the Karachi Zoo to see them.
The zoo draws between 25,000 and 30,000 visitors every Sunday. The number increased over the last year after the zoo’s former chief, Bashir Sadozai, ordered extensive renovations.
Those who seemed to enjoy the unveiling the most were children who were spell bounded by the beauty of the animals. The white lions have been brought in from South Africa and are only 24 months old.
The Bengal tigers brought from Belgium are temporarily being kept at the Karachi Zoo and will be shifted to Safari Park.
