Eid ul Adha Moon 2013 Sighted in Pakistan

Eid ul Adha will be celebrated across the country on October 16 as moon for the month of Zilhaj has been sighted in Balochistan’s capital of Qeutta.

Chairman of Provincial Zonal Committee Maulana Anwar ul Haq Haqqani announced the moon has been widely seen by members of the committee and common people in Quetta.

Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee headed by Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman is also expected to make a formal announcement in this regards shortly.

Eid ul Adha is an important Islamic holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to honour the willingness of the prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his young first-born son Ismail (Ishmael) as an act of submission to God’s command and his son’s acceptance to being sacrificed, before God intervened to provide Abraham with a Lamb to sacrifice instead.
