Fake Degree Case: LHC declares Jamshed Dasti’s conviction null & void

The bench comprising Justice Jawad-ur-Rehman and Justice Ijaz Ahmed, while hearing the appeal of former parliamentarian, declared his three years conviction and fine null and void and ordered the police to release him immediately.

A local court had sentenced Dasti to three years in prison with Rs 5000 fine for contesting the 2008 elections with a fake degree.

Dasti was also disqualified from contesting the upcoming general elections and was arrested from the courtroom following the hearing.
