ICC World T20 2012: Pakistan Qualify For Semi-Final, India Out

Pakistan qualified for the ICC World T20 2012 semi-finals on the basis of Net Run Rate (NRR), after India failed to keep South Africa below 121 in their Super Eights match at the R Premadasa Stadium on Tuesday.

Instead of winning a thrilling match against South Africa, the Indian team failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup. In order to Qualify for the semis, India had to win the match against South Africa with a margin of 31 runs.

South Africa reached 122 for five in the 17th over in pursuit of the 153 required for victory against India, sending Pakistan into the last four on better net run rate along with Australia.

Earlier Pakistan beat Australia by 32 runs in their crucial match of the Super Eight rounds of the ICC World T20 on Tuesday, boosting their chances to make it for the semi-finals.

Pakistan has always reached in the semis of the tournament and it is for the fourth time the team has achieved the milestone.
