Muslims across the country will celebrate Eid-ul-Adha on Wednesday (October 16) by slaughtering (Qurbani Janwar) sheep, goats, cows and camels to commemorate the willingness of the Prophet Abraham (PBUH) to sacrifice his son Ishmael in response to a command from Allah.
Special prayers will be offered for the prosperity of the country and unity among the Muslim Ummah. It will be followed by offering sacrifices of animals by the faithful in accordance with the Sunnat-e-Ibrahimi.
The main Eid congregation in Lahore will be held at the Badshahi Mosque. Eid congregations will also be held in cities, towns and villages across the country.
