PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — A suicide attacker on a motorcycle blew himself up in a market in a Pakistani town close to the Afghan border on Friday, killing 23 Shiite Muslims and wounding 50 people, officials said.
“A bomb exploded in the main bazaar of Parachinar. We are collecting details. Initial reports say that 21 people have died,” local officials told the media.
According to the political administration several shops in the market were also severely damaged in the explosion.
Several of those injured are in critical condition and the site of the explosion has been cordoned off by security forces.
