Renowned comedian Sikandar Sanam, who was suffering from liver cancer, passed away on Monday. He was 45. He left behind a widow, two daughters and four sons. The comedian was under treatment at Aga Khan University Hospital Karachi in September. He was discharged from the hospital a few days ago.
Sanam’s funeral prayer was offered after Isha prayers at the Siddiqui Masjid in Bohra Pir. Prominent artists and political figures including Omar Sharif, Muhammad Ifraheem, Rauf Lala, Saleem Afridi, Shakeel Siddiqui, Aftab Alam, MPA Tahir Qureshi, MPA Shoaib Ibraheem and Athar Javed Sufi participated in the prayer. Sanam was laid to rest at the Korangi graveyard.
Sanam was known for making parodies of famous movies of the Indian cinema.
